No WiFi Signal from RC

Post by diet01109 » Mon Dec 24, 2018 12:03 pm

Power-On at Remote Control seems normally. After beep the LEDs are flashing about 12 s, then all 4 LEDs shines durable.
But the remote control does not send WiFi. Tested with 3 smartphones - no WiFi network appears.

The remote control does not act as a WiFi access point. It's only a client, like for example your smartphone that connects to your home WiFi.

The Zino is the one that acts as a WiFi AP and its SSID is something like Hubsan Zino_XXXXXX. Via the X-Hubsan App you connect the remote control to the WiFi AP of the Zino.

Thank you.

This means that a coupling of the smartphone with the remote control is only possible when the copter is turned on.
I don´t found this in the manual.

BUT!!!!!! You do not, repeat,do not connect to that WiFi signal unless you want a shorter range.
Unfortunately,Hubsan did not make that clear.
You use the OTG cable supplied with the quad to connect the remote to your phone.
1. Turn on remote.
2. Turn on quad.
3.Have the phone in the holder, with OTG cable attached
4. Plug OTG cable into the side of the remote, you phone will request permission to use as "charging device",say "ok"
5. Wait until HUBSAN X app comes on screen, and follow prompts.
If it still says"disconnected",unug the OTG cable from remote and re-plug it back in. This may take several attempts, until your phone has installed all the drivers from the remote.
GO FLY

Thank you.

But what is the purpose of the WiFi connection?

Thank you.

But what is the purpose of the WiFi connection?

The normal setup is
- Zino and remote control connected via WiFi (the purpose of this connection is to transfer all sorts of data to and from the Zino, like your control inputs, telemetry data, FPV)
- smartphone and remote control connected via USB cable (for data transfer between the two)

Meanwhile, I'm about to pack the Zino and send it back.
I have not flown a meter, but have spent hours and 2 battery charges with futile attempts to connect. Once it worked, but do not ask me how. The coupling was maintained even after switching off WLAN. Since then I can not connect anymore.
After the instructions, it does not work. By the X-Hubsan app the wireless settings of the smartphone are called, but there is nothing to see.
Once a pop-up appeared that I should agree to any permissions of the app, but it was gone immediately.
Actually, the app has all possible and impossible permissions.

How nice it is simple with the 501S.

The Zino is an Phone App flyer unlike the 501S which is an RC remote and 5.8G analog FPV flyer no phone needed.

Try this Hubsan have hidden the Android documentation in here for some reason.

Thank you for the support.
The settings described in the manual (USB debugging, charge only) I had previously set.
Meanwhile, it has worked once again. I confirmed "connect to the device" and had all the data of the copter (firmware FC, cam & gimbal is up to date) and the camera image on the screen. The app then recommended that I restart the aircraft. Since this I can´t connect again. Several times aircraft, RC and app restarted - nothing.
Clicking on "no connection" will open the "WiFi Settings" window, but no device will be detected except the existing ones.
SP is a THL T9+ with Android 6.0, which is otherwise reliable.
X-Hubsan app has V 1.6.3.
