JUST REMEMBER. LIHV BATTERY. NOT LIPO.
How do you know it is LIHV and not LIPO? On the battery is written LiPo so is this a scam or something?

It has on bottom of battery that it is a 11.4 lipo (regular lipo is 11.1 for total resting state, 3.7 per cell)
I bought 2 newer chargers in the last 4 months and both of them had LiHV option on them even though I wasn't even trying to buy that option at the time. Glad to have it now.

I bought this 2S/3S balance charger as a spare to the supplied charger(which looks like a toy charger :)). Two cells already charged - one still charging. I hope it is more suitable.

I've only recently gotten into 18650 batteries, trying to get it to run my Yamaha THR10C guitar amp. My Li-Po charger charges each 18650 battery to 4.2V. I do not know whether our Zino charger will do that, morever, I'm pretty terrible at electricity. That is why my fire extinguisher is always at hand :D.

Re: photo above - cell 3 took an extra 45mins to charge before the green light came on to indicate fully charged. Can anyone interpret this?

That's what I too would like to know. And most likely, it'll be those in drone-racing who can give advice. I haven't looked into the other Hubsan race-drone threads yet

Cut n pasted from FPV thread - someone was also explaining something like that in this Zino thread, if I remember correctly :)

serious charger for LiHV

Post by irussphone » Sat Dec 22, 2018 9:33 am

If you are going to get into serious RC and using LiPo and LiHV (lithium polymer and lithium polymer High Voltage) you will need a serious charger. Here is an entry level charger that will fill the bill but not break the bank.

DZT1968 IMAX B6 Mini 80W Digital Delta-Peak Balance Charger+6xCablesFor 1-6S LiPo LiHv Life Li-ion Battery https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074FGZVXH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_4NKhCb9X4ABRP

You will then have to do the Zino charging cable mod though which requires basic skills but it is posted in several places in this forum with YouTube tutorial.

Thanks. Is there downside with using charger came with zino? Will the life of battery become short.

No. The whole reason for the mod is to charge the battery quicker and more efficiently. That other charger you are using only goes up to about 800 mah and your Zino charger is probably better than that. The Zino battery is at least 3000 mah or 3 amps, 3000 milliamperes. So a charger that charges at 3000 mah will be able to charge in an hour max and also balance the cells as it charges which lengthens battery life.
