RTH Height

Post by SkillPig » Tue Dec 18, 2018 1:19 pm

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how to set the RTH altitude.

What I want to achieve is the drone rising to 100 m before it attempts to fly home. Is this a user defined function? What is the standard format for RTH?

My RTH stock is 10 meters. I don't know yet where to change that.

10 meters RTH altitude is dangerous because high risk to hit buildings and trees

Hi,
I’m still waiting on the drone but have asked this question before and have been told you can’t do it.,. Not sure if any recent updates have made this happen.
I think due to lack of obstacle avoidance, this should definitely be available.
Hopefully they will down the line, cheers mate

It would be nice to define it from the app at what height you want the zino to come.

That would be nice to be able to set. Otherwise you'll have to wait for some third party program to come out.

100m is dangerous because there's more chance of the wind taking it away, and it uses extra power (which may be limited) to rise to that altitude :o
I like 10m, but 100m would be a disaster in the making. In 99% of cases you should be able to manually climb to whatever height you want before hand anyway. Thinking ahead is always a good idea ;)

My Hubsan 501SS lets you set the RTH height to anything you want. I have mine at 60 feet (or abt 20 meters).
I don't know about any of their other "Wifi" drones like this one.

Been flying H501S/SS for 2 years. Have several of things and you cannot set RTH Altitude unless you use a non-Hubsan approved app. Where are you coming from on this? And the app that has circulated around does not work with recently released units.

You must have a very different 501SS than I have...mine does NOT use an app at all! It has a dedicated transmitter with its own operating system and it DOES let one set the RTH height, I've done it. Might you have confused the Hubsan drone number?
