Had 12 satellites before taking off, and yes it was a full battery in the drone the flight was only around 4 minutes when i pushed all the way forward last i looked it was 65% when returning home.

Why would other users have issues as well after firmware update, including crash issues?

That should have been plenty of battery left for the Zino to return home automatically by failsafe-RTH, either initiated due to loosing connetion or initiated when battery level reached 30% (or whatever the percentage for low-battery RTH is).
Anyway, you did patiently wait at least 10 minutes or so at the place where you had started your Zino, before you walked away to search for it at the last known location, right?

I took off from the spot where the rest of my family was sitting. Everything was good when taking off. After flying out the distance above i hit return to home, i saw the drone turn around facing my direction on the video and at that same moment all signal dropped and it said not connected. I walked away about 50m to see if i can gain signal, nothing.

Walked further, nothing, not even sound of drone.
The app didn't change it stayed on not connected.

Another thing mr dronenut if it wanted to land cause of low battery why did it loose connection in air instead of into the water?

Loosing connection when turning the drone around while it's at the limit of its signal range is not that abnormal (as the positioning of the antennas changes), but the Zino not returning back to home is definitely abnormal.
Since you had enough satellites on take-off and battery level was sufficient, it looks like a malfunction then. Either that or someone shoot it down on its way back.

After updating drone firmware drone lost connection from controller while retuning home. it's looks like the drone completely shut down in mid air as the picture shows the last position of drone. Unable to retrieve drone. Fault in update? Please advise why it would shut down in mid air. As I'm on holiday and very disappointed of this occurrence.

As i can see on the photo distance is 977 meters which at range limit. Signal lost is a normal issue on this point. İf there is enough battery it should have returned to home.

I am sorry you lost your Zino but it looks like from your controller coordinates the RTH position was the Indian Ocean. Poor location accuracy at take off
With a new product still in development, apart from also being the law here, I would never fly out of visual range.
