compatible chargers

Post by PeaUK » Mon Nov 26, 2018 4:10 am

FAO Hubsan
because the Zino charger appears to use a regular balance port and because the batteries are not "intelligent batteries", can I use my IMAX B6AC charger to discharge unused batteries and keep the batteries in storage mode?
Thanks

Hubsan mention it as intelligent battery, but it looks charger is regular balance charger. If so theorically you can do, but battery pins and socket is not regular.

I don't see why not. You would probably have to re-pin your connector depending upon how they wired the battery. Or make an adapter that plugs into the charge cable and then into your charger.
I was thinking about doing the same thing with my iCharger.

I also thought about to make an adapter. 3 hours to recharge is quiet to long, especially if you have 2 or more batteries... If anyone has an idea how the battery is wired would be nice to post it here. I don`t think Hubsan will release a quick / multiply charger in the near future. ;)

I haven't the Zino yet, but the other end of adapter cable seems to be a "regular" JST XH connector. So, with proper cables and a little trick I presume will be possible to use standard chargers like Imax B6...
I did it with MJX B5W's battery and its charger adapter...

If the pin order isn't the same as normal, the pins can be released and put back in the order we need.

In B5W connector the problem isn't pin order, but connect a negative and positive input to external pins of JST so standard chargers can work properly. Maybe the same for Zino connector.

this is getting a bit technical for me lol

if Hubsan can put together a YouTube video on how to charge with other chargers (especially the IMAX B6AC lol) that would be great.

(If Hubsan want to tap into the DJI market, they need to make things less technical and more user friendly.....e.g. the intelligent batteries of DJI drones allows non technical folk to use Lipo batteries without needing to know what voltage each cell needs to be to be fully charged or in storage mode etc etc)

I hope Hubsan doesn't tap in DJI market with its closed proprietary hardware, but remain in advanced hobbyst market...

I agree with

Hubsan doesn't need to tap in to Dji market.
1. Dji spends tons of money on new technology that's why their drones are expensive. That's how Hubsan fits in, to offer a lower cost alternative.
2. Autel Evo is tapping into Dji market that's why the Evo cost $ 999.99
I wouldn't want to pay $ 900.00 for a Hubsan because they tapped into Dji market.
