WHAT THE HELL WAS HAPPENED IN THE CRASH OF ZINO??? SOFTWARE MUST BE IMPROVED?? OR BAROMETER PROBLEM?
HUBSAN, IMPROOOVE....I DONT WANNA BE AFFRAID WHEN I TURN AROUND FAST....LIKE I SAW IN VIDEO....
I saw the video, too.
Dustin was flying about a meter or aprox. 3 feet from the ground when he turned sharply to the left at full forward throttle. In this attitude the rear rotors are pitched higher than the forward to be at maximum forward thrust. However, as the drone pivots on it's axis the front rotors lose laminar flow of air over their top and thus lose lift, causing the nose to dive. Remember, the rear rotors are still slightly above and thus will over-drive forward thrust at an even steeper angle downward. Added to this equation is what is called "ground effect" which reduces drag, further increasing forward velocity but without generating lift. Ground effect also negates any barometric effect up to two meters AGL (above ground level). I'm not sure that an advanced algorithm could have even compensated that quickly, any DJI drone would also have crashed under similar circumstances.
I fly the H501S with the same barometric altitude hold sensor. I have learned through similar errors to increase my altitude a meter or two before making such a tight turn at full throttle. This was entirely pilot error on Dustin's part
Hope that helps.

Another way to avoid pitching into the ground at low altitude is to ease off the throttle and pivot the drone after dampening your forward momentum. Just a thought

I'm glad he crashed it. It was good to see how it would go and coming out just fine. Those foldable arms are actually good shock absorbers. I have never thought of them for that purpose. Anyway, flying a metre above the ground, you're cutting it fine. I have no interest in being a dare devil pilot. In the end this drone is great FOR THE PRICE. All I really wanted was a h501s with a stable and tilting camera. This is that and more. Now still waiting for the bloody thing!

That's what I thought, too. I like Dustin's videos because the lack of air traffic over his part of Hawaii affords him the opportunity to ignore many of the continental US air space restrictions such as flying beyond LOS and 400ft ceiling without putting others in danger ...but he's a bit of a hotdog

We know the Zino dosen't have $300.00 sensors so don't fly 3 feet off the ground going 10 mph and bank at the same time. Go up 30 ft high and fly it like you stole it and best of all... you'll get 20+ minutes of flight time. After that pop in your extra $30.00 battery and Zoom that Zino
The pilot is the obstacle avoidance feature :ugeek:

No optical sensors means the zino is nothing more then a 501 that folds and has a 4k camera.
