Help Me! H901A Displays Telemetry Info, FPV 5.8G goes Black/Static. Help Still Needed! Hubsan Assembly Issue!

Does the HS001 use the 5.8G freqs to transmite telemetry information or is this transmitted on the 2.4G frequencies?

I am researching FPV functionality of the HS001 since the first HS001 display I bought would not reliably connect to the FPV feed (Video) but had rock solid numbers regarding all telemetry information display i.e. Pitch, roll, Altitude, speed, Battery levels, GPS of HT011A and H501A, Number of Satellites HT011A and H501A and stick position of HT011A.

I changed frequencies numerous times and tried rebinding but after a short amount of time FPV just kept dropping out at less than 5 meters. Even though I was in open field there was a bit of RF interference in FPV display. Again telemetry info is rock solid while FPV went black everytime I used it.

Am I doing something wrong?

Is there a way to display on the HS001 the rssi information?

I was not able to test the camera functions of the HS001 because I don't have an extra SD card for it.

I know the H501A camera works because I can record video to SD card on H501A and get 5.8G video feed that drops out so it may be either 5.8G rssi to HS001 or HS001 isn't receiving well!

I read https://www.facebook.com/hubsan001/posts/1796671740637841 and am wondering is there a process like this for the HS001?

I landed up reverting back to WiFi for tonight's 40 minutes of flights. I like the HS001 but need to figure out is it the culprit or is it my H501A 5.8G feed? The HT011A and the H501A and the HS001 are all about 1 week old to me. First outing with the HS001.

Re-Binding seems to be a recommendation. It recommends you re-bind both the Transmitter (HT011A in my case) and the Display (HS001)

From the H122D manual binding procedure seems different than what I have read other places.

Binding/Clearscreen button:
Hold while powering the screen on to initiate a binding. Short press while
the screen is on to clear the screen; short press again to show content.

Blank video or interference FAQ from H122D manual:
2. No video on the screen or user is experiencing strong video feed interference
(1) Check whether there are strong sources of wireless interference (i.e. WIFI, electricity,
radio tower frequencies, etc). If there are any, please change your flight location.
(2) Rebind the copter to the transmitter, as the 5.8 and 2.4 frequencies might be
interfering with each other.
(3) Browse through the selection of available 5.8gHz frequencies to find a clean channel

I will try this next time I fly.

Well the corrective actions mentioned above that I researched don't seem to help

Either there is no way to display RSSI info or I am just out of luck with my questions

Oh well since it was bought on Amazon I can return without hassles

Per Hubsan on Facebook no way to display RSSI with HT011A transmitter. Bummer.

In order to troubleshoot an issue like this one, you would need another 5.8 device of some sort to determine if it's the problem of the HS001 monitor or the 5.8G on the aircraft. I'm not sure if you have another transmitter besides the HT011A, though.

No I don't. If I did, why in the world would I worry about using an HS001

Since this problem happens when devices are a few feet apart it could be either device or the H501A.

I can return the HS001 which I probably will but I still leaves the 5.8g output of the drone in question.

Should I send in Drone to check it for defects with 1 yr customer at fault warranty:?: Humorous isn't it

I suspect something is wrong with my H501A 5.8G FPV transmitter but I have no way to verify it. I tried using the HS001 one last time last night and less than 10 meters away it went fuzzy then black. It as it sits is useless. and is being returned. I guess if I want to see FPV, I have to fly in WiFi mode. Kind of stinks.

I borrowed an H901A from a flight club member and measured rssi. at less than 5 meter it is at a strength of 23 which is way too low. This is either a transmitter problem on H501A or antenna issue in H501A.

Bought H901A returned HS001


Finally found the problem with a suggestion from FaceBooh Hubsan H501 / H502 / H122D group.

The 5.8g antenna in my H501A right rear Led POD was installed at the factory incorrectly.

The pod is the right rear pod of the H501A when the nose is pointed away from you.

The antenna was not vertical as it was supposed to be but it was lying horizontal lying flat over the motor giving wrong polarization. Explains a lot

I is supposed to be vertical pointing thru the hole in the LED PCB.

wow I wonder how many of the FPV issues posted on the forum are caused by the antenna being improperly installed.?
