Hi everyone,
I state that I bought the Zino from a few days performed all the updates of 9-1-2019, at the time I performed only one flight and I am also a beginner of drones.
The first flight, very simple, went well I am attaching the log.
I write because I'm following the Forum to understand something more and to anticipate possible problems.
What scares me most and read that many users have happened to have repeated disconnections and even the loss of the drone because it did not work the emergency return home.
So I would like to simulate these situations with my Drone under "controlled" conditions with drone on sight, so I ask you:
1) How can I simulate the disconnection ?, just that I turn off the radio control? Disable the phone's Wi-Fi ?, which is the best way?
2) Once the disconnection is obtained, what is the best way to quickly restore it to regain control of the Drone?
3) After how many seconds should the emergency home return be activated?
Thank you and I apologize for my English
Roberto

Re: Simulation of disconnection and emergency return home
The simplest way is to pull your OTG cable.
This disconnects the control channel to the quad, and it will go into RTH.
Reinserting will reconnect again.
There are other ways, like you can easily make the Zino wifi AP reset (exactly like people experience), but I'm not publishing how you do that

Re: Simulation of disconnection and emergency return home
you stated disabling your phones wifi.... your wifi on your phone should be off already.... you don't need it for flight... make sure you cut it off when you fly, just to be on the safe side,...

They should modify the APP to give us a HEADS-UP before the lift-off

Excuse my ignorance but Zino does not communicate separately via Wi-fi with the remote control (for commands) and the phone for video?

turn off the smartphone's wifi. if you connect via wifi from the smartphone to the drone, it will be sending a signal from the smartphone and not from the tx. its range will be much smaller, 200mtrs + -. Turn off your smartphone's wifi

Many phones cannot connect to the Zino by wifi anyway.me_fa036eEZef wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 6:20 amturn off the smartphone's wifi. if you connect via wifi from the smartphone to the drone, it will be sending a signal from the smartphone and not from the tx. its range will be much smaller, 200mtrs + -. Many will not support Band C wifi.
In the UK we have no access to Band C wifi from our phones. It requires a seperate licence to operate in Band C (don't tell anyone we are all operating our Zinos illegally).
Of course what it does mean to us, is that Band C is almost totally devoid of any Wifi traffic. I have yet to see any other device other than the Zino in the band.
I never disable my wifi when flying the Zino
