Confusing Models/Numbers....Phew
Confusing Models/Numbers....Phew
I am a new Hubsan owner. Not new to quads.
I purchased what was supposed to be H501S-S. With a H906A Controller.
Nothing adds up with the quad. Do I have an S model or an SS???
Please see my attached pictures.
Also, what are the actual functional differences between the two???
Thanks for any info or advice.

This is a SS model that is called the 501S on controller displays FC 1.1.46 is the indication that this is an S(SS) Model/ You can a;so look at the camera board and if new model it will say 501a Camera Board to tell you that you 501S is the latest vintage.
I don't know what Controller firmware release started Saying H501S vs 501SS but the camera board if it says 501A Camera board you have latest H501 model which used to be called the H501SS.
Confusing yes but if flight control version is 1.1.46 or above you can be sure that you have the H501S formerly referred to as a H501SS

Thanks again and have a great HOLIDAY!

Only 3 years in the Army. State side duty "sucked" broke me of any thought of staying in.justjarhead wrote: ↑Thu Jan 03, 2019 7:59 amYes I was in the USMC for 6 years. Glad you got your 501S question sorted out.ArmyVet wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 7:29 pmjustjarhead,

Three years in the Army is short.
I sent you a link to the Google Page that has the mod tools and gave you access to it
See message in Private message to get the link.
Download to your computer and extract all files In the Zip file.
Use the firmware mod tool in the \Modding tool \UPDATED\Hubsan Tool\H501S_18_10_2018. EXE
Use the EEPROM tab to get parameters. I think you can modify:
ep_SafeAltitude to address RTH altitude.
Good Luck

Re: Confusing Models/Numbers....Phew
I was an E5 when I got out od te USMC. I was up for E6 and they were going to jump ,e to E7 in the USMCR but I had too much going with a young family and civilian work. I was working 2 jobs to keep our heads above water back then so even though I enjoyed some aspects of the USMCR I could not stand hurry up and wait.
The mod tool is programmed by a Russian team for years now.
