Pairing procedure for H501S+ HS001 +HV002

Some instructions tell you to hold the bind button down on the HS001 when powering on to bind. Is this true?
Also is there away to display the RSSI of the HS001 display?
Hoping for a response.
I get Black FPV screen everytime I use it with HT011A.
