Video recorder in transmitter does not work, but the one in quad does

Tried everything since I bought it. Out of desperation, I bought the official aerial update kit, and fitted it without problems. The quad camera records properly, but there is nothing recorded on the sd card in the transmitter. I have bought 4 new cards, which all work in the quad,but none work in the transmitter. Is this just a faulty transmitter video recorder, or am I doing something wrong? Get a great signal from at least 1 kilometre away. I would really appreciate being able to record flight details, as well as video from the quad.
