STILL NEED HELP!! re. camera/flgt time

Post by mtflyr » Sun Sep 09, 2018 12:31 am

I have figured out the flight time issue with a new set of batteries appearing to solve the problem.

However, I still cannot get any video or photos. On the transmitter it shows the SD card icon, but, no icon shows up when I either short press or long press either the photo button or video button. NOTHING RECORDS!! I dd format my card 16GB to FAT 32 twice and still nothing. Otherwise it functions/flies just fine as all the other functions work fine.

This drone is virtually "useless" to me if I can't get any type of visual recording.

If you are not getting video do you mean video or no pictures ?

If no video possibly camera board went bad. this is common in Hubsan products. Spare parts or warranty may cover seeing as you have 3 posts.

Make sure you have a class 10 sd card. Hubsans don't like the lower class sd cards. Are you not getting video on the transmitter or it's just not recording?

The transmitter screen appears to be working fine. I am just not getting it to record either one. How can you tell if the SD card is a 10?

It should have some number saying class. If not sd cards are cheap, just make sure you buy a class 10.

Somewhere on the SD card packaging should indicate 10, or should reference Speed up to 98MB/s. I have had excellent results using a SanDisk Ultra microSDHC UHS-1 16GB.

Also, a new unused SD card should not need to be formatted but if you do format it or should the need arise to do so, use the long format method not a Quick format. I have had no luck with Quick formatting options and that's with several different windows based PC or laptops.

Oh, one other thing, the SD card can only be used in the quadcopter, not the transmitter. The SD alot in the standard controller doesn't record or store photos.

Ok, it looks like everything(at least for now) might be resolved. It looks like the PNY card I was using was the problem. I switched to a ScanDisc card I had and that seems to have done it. Both the stills and video are now working.

That said, can you recommend adding the external antennas I have seen advertised as I am getting FPV breakup in an area about 2/3 the size of a football field?
