The serial number on the QR-Badge is bleached and can't be read. Is there another way to get the serial? I need it for the insurance.

did you try scanning it with a code reader? or check the box? Failing that contact the seller.

There's no box because I bought it second hand. Also the badge on the box is not 100% identification for the insurance. I thought about reading the firmware???

Firmware Information does not tell you the serial number. The
serial number is that damn inked QR code that wears off as you noticed. It can only be found on the box or the Quads QR code. Since it is classified as a toy, it only has the serial number for warranty purposes so
you have nothing to give insurance.
All the menu shows is firmware versions in the Quad and inaccurate(ambiguous) model numbers.

Not having the serial number would also make it impossible to register the quadcopter with the FAA. Hopefully a Hubsan representative can help find this serial number. Also, why isn't the serial number placed on the quadcopter where it can't be worn off?

Serial # not required for FAA Registration. I just registered several months ago. Make, Model,who/where purchased and weight were the main things. In fact, a single registration # can be used for multiple, same class drones.

Since when do we have to register them again?
