H501S V2.1.50 V1.1.46 -The H501S or H501S-S??

Dear all Hubsan Fans,

Did you recently receive the H501S-S which shows firmware (H501S V2.1.50 V 1.1.46) ?and confused if it is H501S or H501S-S?

Firstly sorry for the inconvenience.The firmware will correct to the H501SS- (V2.1.50 V1.1.46) and will release soon.

How to distinguish whether it is H501S or H501S-S？

1.Check your QR sticker which pasted on the belly of the drone or the backside of the transmitter to confirm your drone is H501S or H501-S.
2.The H501S can't compatible with the new firmware( RX V2.1.50 FC V 1.1.46).if the H501S update the new firmware,it won't start at all.
3. We distinguish the H501S and H501S-S by the RX version number.The H501S is RX V1. The H501S-S is RX V2.

Just recieved a new H501S with this version of firmware. I noticed it didn't say H501S-S on the firmware screen. It is an S-S though right? Also it does the gyrosensor but never asks for a compass calibration. Is this normal?

Yes,your drone is H501S-S.
Besides,the new H501S come with new compass which support automatic calibration.so you drone is normal.

To determine if late model Quad is a 501SS look at the back of the camera board in the bottom of the camera bay with a magnifying glass. If it is a 501SS that wuld use FC 1.1.46 and RX 2.1.50 you see it labeled as H501A

Hi. My Drone is the H501S and came with RX v2.1.50 CF v1.1.46 TX H906A-v1.1.17 but it had flaws when calibrating the compass.
I updated the drone for the CF v1.1.41 TX versions H906-v1.1.16 and RX v1.2.20. To upgrade the CF and RX I used the h501A upgrade tool v1 because the drone did not accept upgrade with the upgradetool v3 and after updating the drone stopped working when I upgraded to RX.
What I could do to get back the previous bottlenecks and the drone back to work.

Join FB forum Quads and Mod and download FC 1.1.46.hbs and RX 2.1.53 and use H501a Update tool to reflash your drone to get it back to the correct firmware for an h501ss with the H501A flight controller board because of the original firmware you listed.

Now describe what is going on or was going on with compass. The newer H501ss have an auto calibarate that when power on quad does not require compass calibration unless there is a magnetic abnormally where you are flying.
