H501S X4 flyaway

Hello here is one month that I bought a drone H501S x4, and unfortunately after some fly, while all the conditions were gathered, 11 satellites on the drone, 7 on the remote control, clear weather, I take off 100 meters in front of me ,25m of altitude, then, the drone became crazy, it flyaway to more than 2 kilometers, without I can control it. I kept a photo of the last GPS position, I try to look for by the last GPS position unsuccessfully, in a corn field . do hubsan can in this case exceptional make a commercial gesture and propose a replacement just because of the cost of the quad .

No sorry they don't. Altitude hold is known to do what happened The best thing to do when contr [l is lost is too throw it in GPS mode and then flip on RTH before a craxh occurs.

Sorry to hear this happened! As a person that is considering buying this very drone, this makes me nervous. And, the altitude hold was a selling point for me!
Forum members. ..Did the pilot here do something wrong? Although not super expensive, I don't want to buy a drone that is going to do this for no apparent reason at no fault of the pilot.

Once the fly away started in process the pilot should have put the control into GPS mode and also flipped up the RTH switch. This stops most flyaways that occur in AltHold.

Thanks. I thought altitude hold was GPS mode. Doesn't altitude hold require GPS being on?

No. Altitude hold only maintains a given altitude according to its internal barometric pressure sensor. GPS mode maintains a given position based upon its measured GPS coordinates. In GPS mode, you fly around by using the stick to move a target position around while the drone is always attempting controlled flight to/at the target position. In altitude mode, you fly around by actually controlling the drones relative position, direction and speed yourself.

OK.. so with altitude hold, the barometric sensor holds a constant elevation in the z axis, but I can freely fly around with the sticks in the horizontal x,y axis unless I purposely change elevation with the left stick again to a new altitude? And, furthermore, the craft will drift in the last direction after releasing sticks? Then, with GPS hold, it holds stable in x,y,z axis unless I am actively moving the sticks and when I let go of the sticks, it holds steady in x,y,z? Do I have this right now?
My first inclination after practicing on our little quads was to lock in the altitude hold to keep a set height but now I guess we would need to be aware of the emergency maneuver of flipping on GPS and RTH if the craft begins a flyaway.

You got it! In GPS mode, your compass calibration is critical. If you get any TBE (Toil Bowl Effect) in hover at different headings, recalibrate compass until it's stable.

Thanks for all your answer ,
I just want to say that while the take off and perhaps 1 minute , the quad was in GPS Mode , then when i try to keep the control I change to altitude Mode, and also RTH , but Nothing happen , so i just thing that the GPS was in error , and i'm not sure about the coordinates on the transmitter after the fall .
I spent 4hours in a corn fields , if the quad was there i think that I find it .
