Considering the subpar Warranty support I will only have the one Hubsan H501A and no others.
In my conscience I cannot recommend another.
Don't get me wrong. The H501A is a great product for the money.
What is lacking is timely customer service and support from Hubsan. Ailsa, Anne, Shally and Viviann try but with only 4 technicians servicing the world they cannot keep up and often their answers don't have good explanations or enough information. As we used to say in the Technical Support Shop I ran "It is Hard to Drain the Swamp When Your up to you Arse In Alligators". Only Ailsa works on the forum so coverage here is spotty at best. I find it ludicrous that they have time to post advertising for the X4 Jet H123D and not respond to users questions!
My biggest beef though is the discretionary warranty policy and how it is used as a weapon against customers verses a benefit. Read my other Warranty and Service posts for more detail. It seems as if you have to fight to get a part covered under warranty. I was effectively called a liar in communication with Hubsan.
Recently in August I have received more timely responses from service@hubsan.com. I have turned there for help to questions or issues only service@hubsan.com can provide. Thanks
Because of improper antenna install in my H501A I need a new Transmitter board that costs 2/3 of what I paid for the H501A. If I insure and ship to Hubsan that is another good hunk of change. When you disabled like I am you cannot afford these expenses.
If you are a DIY kind of person, don't care about warranty repair of a $200 USD product you can get great support from many friendly people on various Hubsan related FaceBook groups. They helped me solve my FPV issue and warned me about the issues with the battery protection circuits that can cause the H501 series to fly like a brick.
