HT011A D/R and FMD buttons
HT011A D/R and FMD buttons
Hello everyone, I'm new to the group.
I have purchased a HUBSAN X4 Air Pro H501A with an HT011A transmitter and the transmitter has not instructions on the operation of the D/R and FMD buttons.
Like the drone does me strange things and is always rotating. I would like to know exactly what they are for and how the drone responds in each button position.
Best regards

Saludos

Re: HT11A D/R and FMD buttons
Watch many of the Hubsan Tutorial re: the H501A and HT011A on youtube.
Here is a decent one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUE7ur36qp4&t=19s
Button and Switch definitions:
The D/R switch does nothing.
The MIX button controls sensitivity of the controller 0 being the lowest and 2 the highest.
Use power on and bind simultaneously to bind drone to quad. Don't power up quad until you turn on the HT011A with the Bind Button pressed.
Note when flying with the APP these button are disabled.
Back left buttons:
Leftmost Photo button
Inner Left Headless mode.
Back Right Buttons:
RightMost button video
Inner Right Button RTH
Note
For Photos and Video recording you must have a 16gb SD card inserted into Drone before powering up. It needs to be formatted as FAT32 and be a Class 10 card or better.
Top Controller Buttons
LED: when using in 2.4g mode it turns on or off the LEDs
Orbiting: The Quad will Orbit or circle you. You have to be flying 6-10 meters high and at least 10 meters distant for this to function.
Follow: Follow me button to have quad follow you. You have to be flying 6-10 meters high and at least 10 meters distant for this to functio
You can also download a manual from Hubsan.com in the support section for more information.
Waypoints can only be done with the APP and a smartphone or tablet. Flying with the APP with WiFi is better than flying in 2.4g
Make sure before taking off that you have lit GPS and UAV GPS LEDS.
Good Luck

Thanks JustJarhead
I will try the drone weekend, but the other day there was something strange.
1st H501A + Mobile App on android the drone works well
2nd H501A + HT011A + Mobile App on android after taking off rotated all the time on itself
I'll tell you when I try again.
Thank you very much

Re: HT011A D/R and FMD buttons
If you are flying with the APP make sure you connect your smartphone to the HT011Axxxxxxx wirless connection and the APP to the Hubsan H501Axxxxx wireless connection.
Once connected the Drone is on and properly connected to the APP make sure you correctly calibrate the compass in both Compass 1 and Compass 2 modes. Once this is done your SMartphone will confirm that the APP and Drone have binded and asks you to press ok.
When you say the Drone rotates on itself do you mean while it is stationary that it is constantly turning in a very tight circle.
From what you responded it sounds as if this has happened on two different H501A drones. Is this correct.
In the App use settings controller and set take off only when GPS signal is well to Yes.

Re: HT011A D/R and FMD buttons
Tomorrow Saturday, I will try again, but I confirm that the android phone was connected with HT011Axxxxxxx wirless connection and relay the APP to the Hubsan of H501Axxxxx wireless connection
The drone was calibrated by turning right horizontally for compass 1 and vertically with nose down in compass 2.
After takeoff the drone rotates horizontally on its axis as if it were calibrating.
The application is configured to take off only when the GPS signal is Yes.
If the same thing happens to me tomorrow, I'll record it so that you can say if I'm doing something wrong.
Best regards

Re: HT011A D/R and FMD buttons
I have not had this problem on my H501A with the HT011A. The only weird flight issues other than flyaways caused by power line interference has been toilet bowling. In your case you may want to calibrate the sticks. That seems to be related to what you have described.
Good Luck and happy flying.

Re: HT011A D/R and FMD buttons
Hello justjarhead
I've been testing again this weekend and as much as I've tried the drone still behaves the same with the HT011A command and the App. Rotate on itself.
I tested only with the HT011A connected with 2.4G and the drone starts the engines but does not fly.
Can you tell me how I can calibrate the HT011A sticks?
Best regards

This is straight out of the H501A manual. I hope it works for you.rudaondo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 4:05 amHello justjarhead

7.4.4 Rotation calibration
Rotation calibration is required when the quadcopter yaw during flight.
Please follow the calibrating procedures:
1) Push the left stick up, and move the right stick from left to right quickly until the 4 LED indicators blink slowly ;
2) When the 4 LED indicators blink circularly, horizontally rotate the X4 in a clockwise direction until the 4 LED indicators remain solid temporarily;
3) The 4 LED indictors will blink circularly again, repeat step 2 to rotate the X4;
4) Calibration is completed whrn the 4 LED indicators stop blinking.
Re: HT011A D/R and FMD buttons
Hi justjarhead
But this is when HT011A is connected with 2.4G to the drone or when it is connected to wifi as a relay?
Thank.

Re: HT011A D/R and FMD buttons
I would say in 2.4g mode but frankly I don't know since I have not needed to do this and the manual is as clear as mud.
Try it in 2.4g mode since it says to use the stick. If it goes into stick calibaration I assume the Quads Led or the HT011A will beep.
