FPV PROBLEMS Ailsa/Anne please read

Post by BOBDREV » Fri Jul 20, 2018 1:09 pm

Hi Everyone,
My name is Bob and I am new to this forum. I received a H501SS drone from Gearbest on about 6-25-18 and it worked fine. One week later, I started having problems with FPV. After many attempts seeking a fix for the problem and no response from Gearbest, I was informed by Gearbest that because I had flown the drone for more than seven days, they would issue me a $20 credit and points to order another drone. I would not buy a Coke from them now.
My problem is this: FPV screen on controller flashes horizontal static lines, screen flashes off and on while flying, FPV unusable. This only happens while flying and happens at several different flying locations. I concluded it wasn't local interference. I have entered menu and tried all the different 5.8 GHZ selections. No improvement.
I removed back of controller to check for loose wires/cold solder joints and found nothing. I purchased and installed upgrade 5.8 panel/2.4 mast antenna with no improvement. I did re-binding procedure with no improvement. Recorded video from drone is fine. FPV and telemetry info is unusable when this happens. Visual control of drone is fine. I have flown it 100-150 meters away with no problems. I am pretty new to drones and I am learning but have run out of ideas. I have learned not to purchase from Gearbest and depending on outcome of this problem, whether I will purchase a Hubsan product again. Many seem to have similar problems with this product. Attached please find screen captures of controller screen when it flakes out. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Sorry. Correction to my original post. The company I referred to is BestGear, not GearBest. OOPS!

Another great example of Hubsan Service levels.

Why are there so many FPV problems?
Is Hubsan Customer Service Lacking :?:

Hello Bob,

May I know if you replace the 5.8 G antenna of the transmitter?

He said he bought new antennas and tried them without success.

I replaced both antennas on transmitter after I received no help from BestGear. I have not done anything to drone.

He said in 2nd paragraph of first post that he purchased and replaced both antennas. I hate when this happens. PM him and make arrangements to speak.
