1. As far as I know the H501A transmitts a 5.8G FPV signal. Is that true?

2. Is it possible to receive this signal with any of the FPV reveivers in the market, e.g. for android smartphone?

Hello, Yes that is true. I can only recommend Hubsan Products. You can use with Hubsan FPV Transmitter. I would Highly recommend the H906A for this Model.
