Crash with H216A and HT011A

Post by silverghost » Wed May 09, 2018 4:24 pm

I bought a HT011A to have more range and better control over my H216A. But today my H216A crashed. Obviously I lost control over the aircraft. The failsave did also not work. If the HT011A, which is here used as a wifi repeater is unsafe in this way, it is not really usable with H216A. The flight curve of the aircraft gives some evidence, that the aircraft got a wrong singnal.
Is ther anybody, who has experience with HT011A as a repeater and H216A?

Now I have fixed the damages after the crash. One A-Motor did not rotate. Positive is that obviously nothing else is damaged, certainly due to the low wight of this drone. The motors are a weak point. I have two H216A and already changed 3 motors. My second drone also crashed because one motor gave up during flight.
The other crash may be due to weak wifi signal, I have to test that.

Actually I've been flying in this combo too and did not have a problem (besides the slight WiFi-Lag)
Flying drones for a while now and started making videos about it this year.

The 216 seems like a greatly improved 507. I have both. The non-propriatary battery being the biggest improvement.

That said, all of the wifi birds are VERY suseptable to interference. Flying in my neighborhood even with the repeater is iffy at best. But out in the open (away from clusters of home wifi) they perform pretty consistently well. Wifi lag seems improved in the open as well. The remote, as much as I'd like to use it, has always been waay too laggy both near home and out in the field. Note: I'm using an Xiaomi repeater.

I've had my 216 for a couple of months and the motors "seem" to be holding up well enuf. But it only gets out once a week or so because of the wifi control issues.

The 507's (as in plural) are now part of a franken-quad project with a Visuo xs809 body.
