Hi all:
ordered a H501SS with standard H901A transmitter. Will be flying in parks and ball fields of residential area. I debated between the standard and pro version and, although the price difference is quite low now, just didn't feel the need for the H906A transmitter and eventually ordered the standard with the H901A transmitter. I should have more than enough range and yet remain line of sight with the H901A, right? In other words, range should easily exceed line of sight, even in a residential area, correct? Some youtube videos said range is affected by residential areas so thought I would inquire here.

PS Should I ever need it, does the H901A have some sort of bnc connection or other to attach a Hubsan external antenna like I see on the H906A?

Yes, your standard tx will (should) give you more than line of sight in favorable conditions. By 300m its hard to see in most cases especially if you take your eyes off it.

Most radio systems get hit by external influences and your Hubsan will be no different. Ideally do not fly in an urban area over houses, powerlines etc

Thanks! I will be flying in a huge ball field - but that field is bordered by homes. I do hope that by staying in that field and perhaps away from the perimeter, the signal won't get influenced by local wifi and the like.

I have gotten over 800 meters out with H901A. Just keep it pointed at the 501S and fly at least 20 to 30 meters high.

@justjarhead.. was that range without any added antennas on the H901A?

Stock out of the box with a clear path with no obstructions to the H501.

For not much more, the pro H906A just looks, and probably feels, a lot more professional. The sticks, in particular, look like they are much better. But is the FPV screen considerably smaller? I also wonder if perhaps if when flying in an urban area, if the H906A will be less susceptible to wifi signal and the like.
