Three years in the Army is short. :)

I sent you a link to the Google Page that has the mod tools and gave you access to it

See message in Private message to get the link. :)

Download to your computer and extract all files In the Zip file.
Use the firmware mod tool in the \Modding tool \UPDATED\Hubsan Tool\H501S_18_10_2018. EXE

Use the EEPROM tab to get parameters. I think you can modify:
ep_SafeAltitude to address RTH altitude.

Good Luck :ugeek:
hello justjarhead

I just got the same model as the OP. (actually last June) same camera card and FW versions. Any chance you could link me to the FW Mod tool? I want to tweek the perimeters a little. What would you recommend? I heard that some people adjust the RTH Altitude ?

Also my H501 forces me to do the compass calibration before every flight. Not a big deal, but not sure why.

H501S V2.1.50
FC V1.1.46
CAM V30.84.84

Thanks!!!

Hey CT,

JarHead will be back soon, I'm sure.

Did you buy your 501 New??? I remember reading somewhere that all 501 are SS for well over a year. Unless you got some older stock. Cant trust these vendors sometimes.UGhhhh

But yes, if yours is asking for a compass cal it is a 501S.

I found the MOD on line somewhere else also . But sorry cant seem to locate it in a web site that does not look suspicious. Wait on JarHead and have fun!

Try this Link on the Google Drive.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PdDY8QEfqabZmlTx3RoWmXaDRpTFHDjH

The tool is in the Modding Tool - Update\Hubsan Tool folder.
Use the H501S_18_10_2018.EXE program and the EEPROM tab. There is a Readme file that might be of some help if you convert it from Russian.
There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to use it

You may need to PM me with your email address to gain access.

I only visit the forum once or twice a week now.

Cheers

Now I am confused again. Haha

Earlier you indicated that you were getting the request to "calibrate compass".

Does that not mean that your 501 is an S Model not an SS??

Just curious, trying to keep it all straight.

I know, I know, I am having a hard time keeping it straight too!

If your RX version is V2.xx.xx it means you have a 501a motherboard. Thats the definition of an SS

BUT .... early SS models had a compass card that does not support Auto Compass.

I have seen the newer compass cards for like $22, been tempted to buy one so I dont have to calibrate compass before each flight.

My buddys H501SS must have the new card because he can just fly it, no rotating the drone. BUT his had had a few "crazy ivans" ... mine hasn't, small price to pay.
