Help Me! H901A Displays Telemetry Info, FPV 5.8G goes Black/Static. Help Still Needed! Hubsan Assembly Issue!

Finally found the problem with a suggestion from FaceBooh Hubsan H501 / H502 / H122D group.

The 5.8g antenna in my H501A right rear Led POD was installed at the factory incorrectly.

The pod is the right rear pod of the H501A when the nose is pointed away from you.

The antenna was not vertical as it was supposed to be but it was lying horizontal lying flat over the motor giving wrong polarization. Explains a lot

I is supposed to be vertical pointing thru the hole in the LED PCB.

I repaired the install of the Cursed 5.8g FPV antenna and took it for a flight test. Good news is I have FPV out to a Whopping 50 meters and then poof Black again.

After conferring with an experienced pilot and Hubsan Drone Expert the problem is:
a) Bad Antenna
b) Bad VTX transmitter
c) both A & B

This is now 2 months old and I am ready to shitcan the whole thing

I am waiting for Hubsan Service to help fix once and for all.

In spite off the antenna being a warranty item it more effective to buy one off eBay or other source so I have one on order to eliminate item a) above.

I will update once I receive and install it.

wow I wonder how many of the FPV issues posted on the forum are caused by the antenna being improperly installed.?

the antenna been placed vertical or horizontal or vertical has nothing to do with polarity


A standard-polarity SMA male connector has a center pin surrounded by barrel with inside threads, and the standard SMA female connector has a center sleeve surrounded by a barrel with outside threads. As with most other connectors, the gender assignment thus corresponds to the innermost electrical component. There are also reverse-polarity ("RP") SMA connectors in which the pin and sleeve are swapped; so that the "male" RP-SMA has a center sleeve surrounded by an inside-threaded barrel, and the "female" RP-SMA has a center pin and an outside-threaded barrel.

What in the heck are you rambling about?

Antenna laying in horizontal position is incorrect. Period and exclamation point. A standard dipole antenna is vertically polarized to send signal out in radiation pattern up and out or in case of the one in quad down and out. It does not have connectors or threads.

LMAO.your right.out the pod is a better position as hubsan found out.they used be be laid in horizontal next to the motherboard,..horizontal or vertical does nothing to do with polarization as you stated in a post
