The response from Hubsan is typical of the response you get from Gearbest, Banggood and Hubsan. How the heck are you supposed to take a video of every flight you make!!! In the chance the drone might take fright and fly off!!

I would take legal advice and never buy Hubsan again... Or buy a drone were the main seller things and wants repeat business.

Try putting your experience on Social Media, mind you I bet they wouldn't care if you did. Hubsan look after the cents and the dollars look after themselves....

Good luck...
Well said again BigBird. As I have noted Hubsan is not Pro-Customer. They are pennywise and poundfoolish. :!:
I would venture to say many who post on forum are not repeat customers. I probably won't be other than for parts if then.

Based on the picture I suspect connection to Drone was lost and it did not receive RTH. The H501A tries to RTH when this occurs unless a glitch causes this to fail and then it just flies where it wants to. At 296 meters out good old interference probably caused the issue. From my research many flyaways occur when out past 250 meters. All of my lost connection flyaway starts occured at 225+ meters. The H501S is supposed to have a lost connection RTH also but it seams that it did not function or function fast enough.

I have had 5 flyaways where luckily RTH on lost transmitter functioned. As noted above when you are fighting to save the drone there is not time to take a video of what is going on. In my case I have to capture info on my cellphone leaving the APP to turn on in Iphone, or fly every mission with Iphone recording screen image eating precious memory potetially crashing IOS. Yeah Right

Putting on social media is only good for self gratification unfortunately.

Post your issue on todays Live Chat on youtube at 1:30pm pst ( 2:30pm Mountain Time, 3:30pm Central Time, 4:30pm Eastern Time)

I had a similar experience when my H501A lost 2.4 GHz (I use wi-fi) signal: instead of returning home it took the opposite direction and just flew away frome home point, suddendly lost at least 5 mt of height and crashed on a high obstacle. I recovered it but the recorded video of the accident on the sd card was unreadable.

Also my HT005 relay that was included in the bundle never worked (red/green wi-fi led doesn't turn on, but blue battery leds do), so this thing of running away after a signal loss doesn't make me so comfortable, so to say...

The fact is that I evend updated my firmware to the latest versions: FV v1.1.41 and RX v.1.1.43.

If we all write down our bad experiences with the Hubsan customer support it is just a matter of time before they change or the company goes bankrupt.
So, write down your experiences on social media, forum and all kind of things people get information before they buy a drone.

Ni Nicola:
Wow. What a sad story. It seems like you are an experienced pilot and you really loved that drone. Has Hubsan been able to help you with a replacement or discount coupon? By the way, what is the policy in these situations with other drone manufacturers? As a potential new customer, I'm watching to see what they night be able to do. Hope things work out for you!

.

You weren't in waypoint mode were you , I've noticed if it's on a waypoint mission and you lose connection it will continue its mission before it returns to home , lost connection at 1200m the other day and thought it would turn around straight away and come back , had to wait about 10 anxious minutes before I got connection back when it was finally heading home , that'll teach me to zoom in the map more when setting points lol

As for the video just Google how to recover corrupt MP4 files and you'll learn how to get it back , had a few crashes and a few occasions I've pulled the battery out before stopping the recording and I've managed to get them all back .

I am also having warranty problems with Hubsan. I am beginning to think, after reading other customer experiences, there really is very little one can do that will satisfy Hubsand warranty requirements.
