Will the Zino work with my Fatshark goggles?

It will not be compatible with FPV goggles. It transmits the video signal via WiFi.

About 30 seconds into the video below...it says that the Zino will have 5.8ghz Control (wifi) & 5.8ghz video transmission (FPV?) as well as HD Wifi video transmission.
I was checking into the Hubsan 501A which uses wifi control and the RC Groups folks say that if you use a regular controller in conjunction with your Phone wifi app, it will do both???

If you are using the advance controller you cannot use the flight controls of the WiFi app but you can see the FPV. You must turn the advanced controller off to use the WiFi app flight controls and orbit, waypoint features etc.

The only consolation I can give you is that it seems like the app will have a VR headset mode, so you can put your phone in a VR headset and use it for FPV.

yes thercsaylors showed that there is vr mode for phone just put your phone in vr headset im guessing use it for flying the drone with not the app like waypaoint and other features

Yes and would be hard to do anything but FPV without using the phone and app.
