Drone battery charge time?
Drone battery charge time?
Sorry for information I have very little hubsan Zino.
I've been charging the battery for 5 hours now but the LEDs are still Red.
Do they have to become green?

Re: Drone battery charge time?
Never charged more than 3 hours. I have 2 batteries. 3rd is on its way. Yes, should turn green
Re: Drone battery charge time?
It might be that there is a difference in the cell voltage and that the charger takes a long time to balance them. If neither the cables or the battery is getting warm, I would give it some more time as balancing can take more time than the actual charging process.
Re: Drone battery charge time?
I still left the battery to charge another two hours this morning but nothing yet the LEDs remain Red.
So I wanted to try a battery test to test the three cells.
The battery seems to be charged but the LEDs remain Red
It does not heat up in the battery in the charger
Do you have any advice?

Re: Drone battery charge time?
Some of those voltage checkers are not very accurate, I just threw one away which had an incorrect voltage reading while I have three others that are perfect. If you get a chance, compare them with the result of a good multi-meter.
That said.... Assuming that the voltage checker is accurate, the video shows that there is a great difference between cell 1-2 and cell 3 so it might indeed be that the charger is still trying to balance them but it might also indicate a faulty charger. The battery is an LiHV so fully charged, the total voltage would be 13.05V (4.35 per cell)
It would be best if you could charge the battery with a good 3rd party balance charger but as long as nothing gets hot and that 3rd cell goes not above 4.35V you could leave it for another couple of hours and monitor if the other two cells charge up to 4.35V
Keep an eye on it though and stop as soon as anything gets hot or if the voltage on any of the cells goes above 4.35V

Agree with fdvk
The Zino is built to a price point, one of the biggest areas they price cut in my pinion was the factory charger. First thing I replaced when I got the Zino. Already had an iMAX B6 but upgraded to a version 2 for the LiHv batteries.

Why do you keep saying it's a LiHv battery when Lipo is written on it?
How should I load, lipo or lihv?

Re: Drone battery charge time?
LiHV is Lipo High Voltage
So yes, it is a Lipo but normal Lipo's are charged to 4.2V while High Voltage Lipo's are charged to 4.35V
You can charge LiHV with the LiPo program but than you will not be using the full capacity.
Re: Drone battery charge time?
Most chargers let you choose final cells voltage, so even li-po program should be ok.

Hello regster,
Would you mind to test the battery by the voltmeter ?
Waiting for the further feedback
