Thank you @501Pete for showing how easy this is to do. After watching your video, I had to try it.

I hand launch and hand retrieve often - when the landing surface is rough, sandy, uneven or unstable like from a rocking boat or when it's windy. When retrieving I hold onto the drone with one hand, pull down diagonal with the other hand and use my mouth to pull on the other controller. Easy.

You're make a mountain out of a mole hill
To disarm, simply hold the throttle stick low. Simple one handed.
I demonstrate the 90ΒΊ failsafe only to show that it's there and it's another method (08:55 in video below). This for instance can be used if you are busy with something else, perhaps holding a camera in your other hand and you have set your controller down. Just remember to hold really tight as the quad will want to level itself.
.
For almost every other scenario, holding the stick low will do the job, and you don't need to do anything if the quad is automatically landing after a RTH or low battery. It will just disarm once in your hand.

Good one
Don't let go of the quad until it naturally pulls itself out of your hand.
I'm right handed too.
If you notice I hold the controller "back to front" in my left hand to gain access to the auto take off button.
Lack of foresight from Hubsan putting it on the RHS

Dam I thought you had to pull down on both sticks like the h501s. That's a lot easier. Thanks.

I may launch from the ground occasionally if there is a flat piece of concrete available, but I'll always hand catch from now on. This makes so much sense. Thank you again Peter.
