iPhone case in the way of connection cable?

I have a 6s with a not-especially thick case, but the cable from the controller won't fit. I found this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019E2MR78/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

TechMatte Lightning Charging Adapter. 1 foot long... works perfectly, and the cable is short enough to not be an issue.

I know this is for Android but can you not shave down the connector to fit a little?
