Zino not pairing with transmitter

Hello
I did received the Zino January 3.
It was at version FC 1.0.42 Gimbal 3.0.2.0
Connection was ok between Zino and the transmitter.
The app on my iphone was connecting OK. I did not tried to fly because it was at night.
I made the firmware upgrade following the video of Mag Nhomme carefully. (Merci pour ce vidéo)
All was good, I could take pictures, videos and look at all the options. Turned off Zino and the transmitter. 30 minutes later I power it back on and all was good again. I did that 3 or 4 times with success.

January 4, there was no pairing between the drone and the transmitter. Tried many things before I was able to make it work again. To make it work again I reinstalled the FC firmware and I disconnect the usb cable in the middle of the upgrade. I reinstalled again the firmware normally and everything was good for connections between the Zino and the transmitter. I went outside, did calibrations of the drone, GPS test and had the motors turn on.

January 5, same symptoms, the drone does not pair with the transmitter. Did the same procedure to get the drone pairing normally with the transmitter.
I could explain on 5 pages what I did try to make it work. I am reading all the thread on the forum since mid November of last year ( the date I ordered Zino) so I have seen all the little details that we can forget (like leaving the two files on your sd card when you install the camera firmware).

It looks that after a certain time, something occurs like loosing memory. I do not know. So my question is ?

What could make pairing not occurring after a certain time ?

It is really frustrating to pay $635 canadian dollars to have a drone that does not work properly.
I hope that Hubsan will come with a solution shortly.
Sorry for my English, I am a French speaking person.

Thanks to all owners of Zino to spent so many hours trying to find solutions for Hubsan

Hi

I have had this issue for ages now. I don’t know if you’ve seen this video:

https://youtu.be/pXZs9dvbORc

Aparently this guy’s problem is going to get solved by a replacement otg cable. I have tried absolutely everything and all I get from Ailsa/Hubsan is “please send video for better checking”. Some thinks I should swap the micro sd but that didn’t work

Please post on here if you’ve managed to solve this as now my Zino is sadly in it’s box, in the cupboard gathering dust.

Thank you for your response.

The guy of the video is having an error with the gimbal. In my case Zino does not pair with the transmitter.
Front blue led flashing with back red led solid on. Look at the service manual version 2 at the bottom of page 5.

If this is your case i would try to unplug the usb cable while doing a firmware update of the flight control.

I will pay attention to that OTG cable.
So far today i was able to fly Zino for the first time at 0 celsius with 3 feet of snow on the ground.

Thanks again

Look at post zino connection sequence, maybe it works for you to.
Had same problem, tried this way and connected every single time. Good luck

Right, I tried the trick with half installing firmware, interrupting it halfway and then fully reinstalling fc firmware. That didn’t work. I’ve tried various sequences of turning on drone, rc and starting app. Then I trimmed a little bit of rubber of the otg just incase it didn’t fit in the phone all the. Done the sd card format after firmware install. The drone gives off a wifi signal because when I disregard the controller, I can connect with my phone and fly it.

So it must be a faulty controller, anybody agree with that?

I am now going to dance around the drone naked and see if that works

Sounds a reasonable assumption (not the naked dance part  ), only other suggestion I can think of is a bad OTG cable they are notoriously fickle and often a point of failure. The drone works, the phone works so either the tx or the connection to the tx is faulty.

I think so. Would the transmitter connect to the drone without phone connected by otg? I mean, would those four blue led's stop doing the knight rider thing and go solid? I'm asking as I never actually switched everything on before updating to ver 46. So a theory of mine is that possibly (as mine was one of the first ones of indiegogo) the transmitter firmware can't connect with the fc v46 So I'm trying now to get hold of v44 of Hubsan to try that out. I think if that doesn't work then I'll borrow an android phone just to use another otg, and if that doesn't work, then I'm owed a new transmitter.

Reverting to Full firmware V 44 didn't work either. Next step is try and connect with Android phone to check if it's a faulty lightning otg. If that doesn't work it is 100% faulty transmitter!

Even without a phone connected the TX should get 4 solid lights after a minute or so. Not sounding good.
