he did make it look easy, but it's a shame I couldn't see his other hand (or understand what he was saying lol)

Some friendly advice if you don’t have one buy a launch pad. It’s the best take off surface that I have found for folding drones bebop and Spark.

thanks Perry1, I agree with you, but sometimes using a landing pad (e.g. long grass) isn't practical.

I also have perfected hand launch and landing. This of course depends on Zino gps lock. Don’t get mines until Wednesday.

I would never take off and land any other way.
The Zino will be no different, in fact it will be easy to launch with one hand as it has an auto arm and takeoff button.

I think that to switch off the motors you turn the drone on it's side. Am I correct? If yes, does that not affect the drone's performance in it's next flight? (I.e. does that not mess about with the gyros and stability sensors/settings?)
