Sorry drift should only be up and down a metre or so. If it is moving sideways a lot then that is a problem. Even though GPS accuracy is 1-3 metres it still should lock onto the inaccurate position over time the position accuracy will get better with the more GPS calculations that are made this is why GPS lock at a new location can take about 10 minutes or like when you RTH after you have been flying for awhile it returns a few metres from the take off point.

But constant drift sideways in the hover is an issue.
