I followed the HubsanTutorial on YouTube and at first I had issues. My laptop is not a good PC and it’s for just these kind of updates as many of my drones work like this. Yuneec used a computer based firmware loading and lots of racing quads do also. That being said, it’s a learning curve because of the sequence of updating. For me, what was not told was the final step of removing the SD card for the reboot and reconnect. With my other drones, the update files were harmless post update and hung out with the video folders. On the Zino, this appears to be not true as once I took them off the card, everything behaved on the cumbersome restart and reconnect.

Upgrade for Zino Android

Post by REllstrom » Sun Dec 23, 2018 11:03 pm

I have been able to fly my Zino with the apps loaded firmware, unlike, (apparently almost any others).
The firmware on my app is : V1.6.3.
I don't know if there is a more recent version, but if there is, I'm concerned that by updating the firmware, I may end up with more issues!
I am having problems with being able to record any pictures or videos since my 1st flight!
Is the firmware update for the drone itself ( Android), make it capable of changing Camera settings? And what other fixes, or capabilities does the most recent version offer?
I know most can't even use their Zinos with Android, so far I'm lucky, so can anyone tell me if theirs worked initially, then after update, had it stop working?
One more thing I can't seem to get a straight answer from Hubsan about is, is there any way to be able to use the FPV with my Fat Shark goggles, or ANY other devices?

The app "update "is ONLY the app. It does not update the quad. To update the quad, you must go to Hubsans' official site(Hubsan.com)on your computer. Then you go to "support"and d/l the update, which consists of 4 (four)parts.
There is a video on line showing how to update the drone.
And yes......the update opens up the camera functions.

No it is 5G WiFi FPV i.e digital not 5.8G FPV i.e analog

Why does the Zino app have an "FPV" option that has to be turned on, yet doesn't offer real "FPV" screen option?
It appears to be redundant. Is there a future update that will correct this issue?
Does the Micro USB for Android to connection on controller, allow for a longer cable to connect for FPV viewing? Or is the connection on the controller proprietary? (Only made for controller, or can be purchased for different lengths)?
If so, what is the name of that end of the USB cable for Android ?

Hello,

For the Fat Shark goggles connection with Zino ,kindly note that the Zino is wifi drone.

For the long Micro USB cable for Android ,would you mind to tell us your Android device model number?

Because it has FPV over WiFi to the phone,if you have a phone with slow CPU that cannot handle the videostream you can turn it off and still fly.

It is just an OTG cable. But you will only be able to view the video on a phone like device and I doubt it would work as it is not a pure video feed it is a controller app as well.
