Re: How to increase the range of Zino?
Just a question, what would you need such ranges for? In most countries, flying BVLOS is not allowed and even already at 300m the Zino is a tiny dot against the sky, loss of video connection would mean that there's no way for the pilot to pilot the drone anymore, RTH would be the only option.

the simplest way would be to add higher gain antennas, on the controller.
Adding 6dB would double the your range, so you'd get around 2Km with antennas with a gain of around 9dBi
You can buy off the shelf, antennas with a gain of between 11 and 14 dBi.
11dBi would give you approx 2250m and 14dBi would give you about 3.5Kms

You lose video at the same time as control, therefore it's a moot point. You can't control the quad once you lose connection anyway.me_075d7ydEYr wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 3:25 pmJust a question, what would you need such ranges for? It will be autonomous at that point.
This is unlike a conventional quad that has a separate control and video "channel".
If that was the case, things would be different. For instance the 501 has control and telemetry on 2.4Ghz and analogue video on 5.8Ghz.
If you lose video you can still happily fly the quad using telemetry, (instrument flying in real world speak).
You can turn off the video feed on the Zino and practice instrument flying, a good skill to practice which is well worth the effort of doing (you never know when you'll have a camera failure).
At the end of the day, the RTH switch is at the end of your fingertips

I have these but haven’t used them yet. Will report back when I do.

Hi, I am interested in seeing the result of the test with those panels. I have noticed in my zino that from the 900 meters already begins to decay. It has enough autonomy to do more km but is limited to 1km. Good luck with the test and write the results soon.

don't understand why your having disconnect issues, I've flown 500-600m, still having good signal, maybe something is wrong with the wifi on your drone... I fly with a old Samsung J3, after you start up the xhubsan, chk the wifi again and make sure it isn't turning back on....just a thought, I also have my USB debugging set to charge only!

Re: How to increase the range of Zino?
I think all the people on Youtube which ad disconnects have been flying vertical about their actual position, and having both antennas in an upright position. All, that have flown nearly a kilometer, have done this diagonal, means some height/long radius.
This completely makes sense because of the antenna characteristics!
So I think this post of @peterkng should be made a sticky: https://forum.hubsan.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1403&start=10#p6643
For some, they had improvements with doing a reinstall the camera firmware via the micro SD card. But I have small doubts about that, maybe they just flew outside of the B-axis hole then...? But hey, if it helped, why not?!

I installed "46" and got lots of connection issues when going straight up and hovering and when not hovering.
I installed "44" and it stayed connected when hovering and when not hovering.
So just the vertical or diagonal isn't the answer all the time.

That´s really strange, then Hubsan has to look into it!!
Did you also update all the other parts when going to 46, or just FW?
This guy made a direct comparisson, and defenitely no differences in FW regarding connection: https://forum.hubsan.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1479

Hello irussphone ,
Even reinstall the camera firmware via the micro SD card. and FAT SD card to FAT 32. Still get disconection issue in FC1.0.46.right?
