Zino Gimbal error 0x0008

Post by EDunham » Sun Dec 16, 2018 9:21 pm

I updated all available firmware prior to flying. I constantly get a 0x0008 Gimbal Status error. The camera is facing downward and unresponsive to any input. It is free to move on all axis. Gimbal is at V3.0.2.1

The video detailing removing the gimbal back cover and hitting a reset button had no effect once done.

Please advise before I have to make a decision about asking for a refund

iOS updated download- 3.6.9 iPhone X

Note that with powering up the gimbal does not move or cycle through rotations.

It was not flown before the firmware update and I did not notice an error code prior to updating.

Ailsa

Yes, flashing with the gimbal firmware you sent seems to have solved the problem. Now reports Gimbal Status “Normal” and is working. Camera tilt is a little stiff and jerky. Looks like what you sent rolled the firmware back to the original.

I did all the firmware updates before attempting to fly so I can’t be sure if it ever was "Normal". But I don’t think I saw an error code prior to the 12/10/18 upgrade package.

Thanks for your help.

Note: Earlier, when I removed the gimbal back cover as shown in the video it was not clear where the reset button was. The English captions says "rubber button". Can you post a picture or diagram of where this is located? I doubt that I did it correctly but now don't need to with the firmware correction.

Now that the location of the "rubber button" gimbal reset has been revealed, I was able to clear the 0x0008 error to the classic 0x0004 error, reset again and finally returned to a normal gimbal status.

Only then was I able to upgrade to the 12/10 gimbal firmware.

Today I had my first successful flight.
