This quad does not have an "optical flow sensor". That is what measures the distance from the ground. Prop wash will cause any quad to move around close to the ground.

Well, the first mistake I see is that after it started to TB,you didn't recalibrate the compass.
TB is caused by 2 components "arguing"with each other. They both "think"that they know what north is. The compass says"it's here". The GPS says"no,it's over here". And thus, the battle ensues. Then the pendulum effect has began.

I wouldn't really call it "arguing with each other". Yes, a GPS system that is moving horizontally and above a certain minimum speed is able to calculate where N, W, S, E are, based on the path of its movement within the coordinate system. However, when it's not or only slowly moving horizontally (like a quad that is hovering in place) there is no way for a GPS system to calculate where N, W, S, E are.
So, if a quad that is supposed to hover in place is slowly moving out of position (due to wind or whatever) and the GPS system wants correct this and move the quad back into position, it can only ask the compass where N, W, S, E are. However, if the compass is giving the GPS system the wrong direction (e.g. because the electronic compass was not calibrated properly) the GPS system (quad) will not end up at the position it intended to move to. So the GPS system wants to make another movement to correct the quad's position and asks the compass again for direction and the compass again points the GPS system in the wrong direction and this goes on and on and on, until this gets stopped by something.

Thus........in layman's terms
Arguing with each other.

Even it's a toy drone...maybe it's not a toy....we all expect it something after spending our loot on something that was hyped from Hubsan..crappy or not so crappy...I will give it another month or so. I will put in it's box and pull it out in the year 2019...
