Have you tried
going into the H901A menu and changing the 5.8G frequencies until your get display?

When you say blank screen does that mean black with no telemetry information?

If so I would try rebinding the H901A to the quad an see if display comes back.

What price range are you looking at for the practice drone. Hubsan has many orions and it is hard to give advice without a budget number. Because of the Zino capabilities I would suggest one with GPS flight , Orbit, Follow me and RTH features so that you experience What the ZINO does.
