I had this issue early on and Hubsan sent me the base release firmware. Upon installation I got the 0x004 error which the gimbal reset then cleared.

After that I was able to upgrade to the most up to date firmware.

Now that the location of the "rubber button" gimbal reset has been revealed, I was able to clear the 0x0008 error to the classic 0x0004 error, reset again and finally returned to a normal gimbal status. Note that with powering up the gimbal does not move or cycle through rotations.

It was not flown before the firmware update and I did not notice an error code prior to updating.
