No, it's light enough for the wrists, and you can see all the controls. Notice how you hold the controller with the pad attached. This is an inexpensive solution, and works for smaller pads, not for 25cm/10" or larger pads. In those cases, go with your idea. Now, if you have small hands or weak wris...

The Huawei T3 7" MediaPad seems to work well, though I haven't tried the various flight modes.

The pad needs to have the wifi turned off in order to connect properly.

I had the same problem with my Huawei T3 7" MediaPad. Big Thing -- make sure your M2 Pad's wifi is turned OFF. The sequence I use: 1) turn on drone. 2) turn on controller 3) connect the controller to the M2 pad using the included cable. In my case, connecting the cable to the pad causes the Zino app...

Are you referring to the iPad being too large to fit? I wanted to use my Huawei T3 7" MediaPad, but it was too large. I found a thin, cheap cover for the MediaPad, used a little flooring sample found at home improvement and flooring stores as a spacer, and attached the sample to the back of the cove...
